| PREMISE Congratulations, wanderer! You've received a unique opportunity: True, it was probably against your will, and no one will satisfactorily explain how you got here, but you can look at it as a fresh start, if you want. A chance to make a better world in the one the bombs left behind. You might have noticed you've woken in a room. That's a start, isn't it? True, it doesn't look like much, clapped together from old wood and rotted, rusty metal sheeting like it is, but it's a roof over your head from that nuclear rainfall. Beside you is a strange, clunky device, clearly meant to be worn on the arm, thanks to that obvious glove on one end, along with a strange little disk that looks like a cross between an old floppy and a cassette. A little fiddling will get it turned on, and soon you find yourself perusing the Pipboy display, which shows everything from your current physical state (gosh, hope you haven't injured any limbs, you're fresh out of stimpaks), to your own personal inventory, to a few radio stations, though every one seems to be an oldies channel, and with some guy calling himself Mister New Vegas (what a joke, right?). A rusty bed in the corner contains what possessions you had on your person before you blacked out and woke here, along with a simple, worn 9mm pistol, and one single box of ammo. Where are you? Well, for that you have to walk out the door, into the Wasteland. From where you're are it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Truth is...The game was rigged from the start.
